It depends in which country you want to start manufacturing and selling that generic version of Pfizer's Viagra.


Patent laws that protect Viagra are different in each continent.


Pfizer has a patent on the shape and color of the pill as well as the active ingredient , Sildenafil Citrate... But they do not have a patent on ED medication in general...

On November 8 2000, the United Kingdom's High Court ruled that Pfizer's European patent designated in the UK and covering the method of use of sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, was invalid.
