That's what I've heard.

Inktomi used to be a much bigger player when Yahoo was usingthem. Yahoo's switch to Google really put Google on the map. Switching back to Ink could bring back the good old days of more than one engine...

Now if someone could only revive Infoseek and the the three minute index! Damn you Disney! smileys/smiley17.gif

It'll be interesting to see what happens though. I thought some of the Yahoo guys were part of Google's early venture funding. With the IPO rumors, it seems like an odd move, but who knows.

Altavista is not going to come out of grave it is resting in right now.

Has anyone tried looksmart sponsored listings that they came out with a few weeks ago. Do they convert well or is it the usual LS junk traffic?

At this point, I'd settle for junk traffic. I bid very POPULAR merds at position 1 and I think I spent $8.00 in October No traffic at all smileys/smiley7.gif

It looks to me like a paid advertisement like the other four listed there. No promise of INK listings in Yahoo. smileys/smiley5.gif

Ya... it does but I don't think Yahoo is going to pay for their own ads. Maybe all the Ink partners chipped in.
