Dear valued ah-ha.com advertiser,

Due to our expanded network of high-quality distribution partners and various other considerations, ah-ha.com is establishing a minimum bid of $0.03 for all paid keyword listings effective December 1st, 2003.

In order to minimize the near-term impact on current advertisers, ah-ha is also instituting a "grandfather period". This means that current bids of $0.01 or $0.02 do not need to be changed while the grandfather period is still in effect. (However, during the grandfather period any bid changes are subject to the minimum bid.)

Here are some answers to common questions about the minimum bid:

Why is ah-ha.com raising the minimum bid from $0.01 to $0.03?
ah-ha.com's partner network now generates more than 1 billion queries every month for advertisers. A minimum bid of $0.03 allows us to provide keyword listings for 40% - 70% less than other PPC engines while offsetting the cost of expanded distribution on high-quality partners.

ah-ha.com also recommends that bid prices be set to at least $0.05, or at such level as to achieve a top 3 listing. Many of our distribution partners only show listings above a certain price (regardless of your ranking), which may mean the distributor takes only those listings above $0.05, $0.10 or in some cases above $0.20, $0.25, etc. You should monitor the click-through levels that you get at various prices. Please keep in mind that the top 3 listings account for 78% of all click-throughs.

I am a current advertiser. How does this affect me?
On December 1st, all new bids and bid changes must be at least $0.03. At that time, $0.01 and $0.02 listings are "grandfathered", meaning that those listings will still be active but any bid price changes must be at or above $0.03. If you have new keywords that you would like to lock in under $0.03, you must do so by November 30th, 2003.

How long is the grandfather period?
ah-ha.com has not announced an end date for the grandfather period, but advertisers will be given at least 30 days notice.

During the grandfather period, can I change the title, URL and description of my $0.01 and $0.02 listings without raising the bid to $0.03?
Yes. You may continue to update your listings without affecting your bid. However, any changes to the bid price are subject to a minimum of $0.03.

I still have questions. What should I do?
Please send us e-mail at cs@ah-ha.com, or call us at 1-888-815-8999 and we would be happy to answer any questions you have about the minimum bid.

Thank you for your support!

All the best,
The ah-ha.com Team

If I ever get my hands on these fu#*ks I will tear them apart. Ah-ha is not a search engine, it is a scaaaaaaaaammm. All there employees should wear masks and probablly do. When I was on Ah-ha I came accross my add on a MP3 download site with a couple of other adds that read click on these three ads everyday to raise money for out MP3 site! I called Ah-ha and they said they knew nothing about it but would look into it. Ya, a week later they finally took it down. Never wanted to compensate me anything and I left. Then the rep that called me every morning for like two weeks to get me back, could not figure out why I was telling him to fu#*k off every morning (three hour differnce for me) and that I did not want a free alarm clock as compensation!

STAY AWAY - VERY FAR AWAY! THE NAME SHOULD BE HA-HA! WE TOOK YOUR $
