Anyone else have concerns about this? I certainly do. Why do OP customers have such easy access to our forum??
I'm not talking about the lounge but the general rxaffiliateforum where they posted.

I agree. It was surreal having a customer coming here to complain.

I agree. It was surreal having a customer coming here to complain. I also dont like it, do you think it may be an affiliate trying to ruffle our feathers during these trying times? If it is ,then it sucks big time...only when this occurs do I wish this was a private Forum than Open ...but I believe this is about the third time now...and the mystery posters seems to vanishsmileys/smiley5.gif

Have admin check his logs and see how the found the forum. If it's a type in or bookmark, then it's someone who's already here.

I thank you, too. Newbies I can deal with, I'm not that far removed myself. But CUSTOMERS!!! Not good.
There was talk last summer re: getting a regular chat going, via ICQ or whatever. Nothing ever came of that. Do you think we should check into it? There are a lot of issues for us all right now, and tensions running high. Perhaps if we had a scheduled chat we could keep in more "in the family" and not risk "customers" (who could be anyone) getting this info.
Just a thought. (It gets dangerous when I do that)

Annonymous chatroom members can be customers too. I don't understand this suggestion at all.

http://rxaffiliateforum.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2016&PN= (http://rxaffiliateforum.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2016&PN=1) 1 This is just plain stupid.....or if its not a customer its a pretty sh*tty thing IF its an affiliate ,next they the poster (IF REALLY A CUSTOMER WILL BE PUTTING UP LINKS TO THE WEBSITES WHERE THEY ORDERED!!)smileys/smiley7.gif

Dewie, I'm wondering if what you said before is true; that this poster is just an affiliate trying to "yank our chain". Think so?
Also, is there not a way you can have a private, members-only chat? I may sound stupid, but seems there would be a way to do that?

I really do wish that the admin would listen to reason and get their forum out of the search engines. What is their motivation for keeping it in? They said from the start that this forum wasn't created to generate a profit and that the adsense adds are almost worthless.
Why not make the main forums member only? Set up a 2checkout or paypal account and charge a 3 month or 6 month fee. No membership, no access.

I'd send admin $10 a year for membership IF the forum became a private
place for affiliates and affiliate directors to communicate about
industry issues.
I'd also like a 3 strikes your out rule. With this negative
people who come in here and talk sh*t and piss people off would be
given two warnings, then given the boot.

The thing is, drugdr, some of these very inflammatory/antagonistic posters only post 1 time!! Remember the person whose "home was raided, computers seized, etc" buy the DOJ? Had everyone upset but never posted again. At all. And there was another similar one.
Don't know what the answer is.

I thinka membership fee will be enough to keep one post wonders out. Now a days half the posts on the forum are being made by people with post count 2 or 3.

We are thinking of a plan right now to do this. Hopefully being implemented by the end of the month. We'll probably switch to vBulliten because of the access features. We agree this place is getting out of hand.
